Happy weekend

It's hard to believe that just a few weeks ago I was lamenting over the long quiet days and now with the house full of energy, I am wondering what that quietness felt like.

Tomorrow my youngest daughter and grandson will be off to San Diego to live with my oldest daughter and her family while the younger finishes some nursing credits.   On the way south they will stop off at my mom and dad's where we will all gather to celebrate my mom's 78th birthday.  That means both our grand kids and more new great nieces and nephews than I can count.

Life is all about growth and change.  It can be so easy to want to hold on to what is...but what is to be cannot be denied and so we adapt and encourage and learn to hold our tongue when we want to hold on too tightly.

Life is good...not perfect or always easy...but definitely good.

Have  wonderful weekend!

xo, Patty

  6. I found the easiest way to "let go" was to realize I didn't actually have any choice in the matter. lol Might as well look gracious when facing the inevitable! ~ Maureen

  8. I am so glad things are settled at least for now. I feel as if I am always putting someone back together or propping them up from a bad day. Guess that is what moms are for. I am glad to be here to do it.

  11. Why is letting go so hard. I struggle so with this. My children are 21, 22 and 23. When I think of them gone I get very sad. They are all still in college ( taking their time) so it might be a few more years at home, but I know eventually they need to start their own lives away from home.

  13. I'm so grateful that my daughter is still at home while going to college. I know things will change so I'm trying to make a conscience effort to enjoy these days!

  14. Happy birthday fun. So nice that so much of your family will be able to celebrate together. My thought for this year is "Embrace Change," and I'm looking forward to new things and events in my life.
